#TellYourStory | LEAPS OF FAITH - Stories of life transitions that landed you on your feet

article image placeholderUploaded by @DBPardes
I didn't want to dribble out of my career. I wanted to make a nice, clean break. And I had always wanted to run an organization that was kind of something that led a cause, and something kind of appeared for me, and it seemed a little crazy. Long story short, something about a song that I had written about a book made me realize that. What about songs inspired by literature as a way to raise money for adult literacy projects?

And so I was looking around for opportunities pretty much everywhere. Now, when I say everywhere, let me give you a geographical picture of what I mean by that. So I was in my hometown, still raising my kids, and I needed to finish the mission of raising them. I wasn't done yet, but I needed to find something that was a good fit and it would provide me the income I needed. So I looked in towns that were only an hour away from my hometown

Wow. Eric, that wasn't just a leap of faith for you, but it had such an impact on the very people you loved, and you just really had to have such trust in the process and knowing, even if you didn't get it, that you were going to be okay and they were going to be okay. But what a dramatic, um, sort of example of stakes to do what you did. And I'm just so happy the results were good

My story on taking a leap of faith and it was good

And when you continue on your merry way, the other party thought they were going to get you to lose, but you won so far, because if they wouldn't have took that leap of faith, they'll still be trapped, looking for a way out, looking for a push to be able to take that leap of faith. And, yeah, so that's how it was for me when I took that leap of faith, to continue on my journey alone

Have faith and believe on yourself will alwas help to find a way from any struggle!!!

Hello. Hi Jebra. And think this is the good start for me to tell my leaps of faith I have taken in my life. Way back in 2018, I got married to a guy. Being an Indian small town girl, I had choose to be housewife forever and in 2019 we got separated and I was shattered completely with the emotions. No career there. Having a career gap and want to move on

It's such a beautiful reinforcement for so many people who need to hear this who are in their own sort of un. I guess I'm just looking for the word that it's not constricted as much as it is limiting enough to make it not a healthy situation. People always need to feel like there's hope on the other side of their leap. So thank you both so much for being around this theme. It's really such a human universal theme. Thank you

But I think, at least in my own lived experience, the best of life is lived in those small moments. And those things that we often call leaps of faith are really small steps towards what we haven't yet figured out. So it might be a new job, it might be away from a bad relationship, it might be a new community, and it's just small steps towards the unknowing that we take

#Taking that Leap of Faith

It was the week between Christmas and New Year's, and I got fired from my first radio job. Me and the general manager of the station didn't quite see eye to eye on things, and I kind of knew it was coming down, so I prepared myself for it. I got a severance package. I kind of just took it easy through the holidays, the rest of the holidays. And after the first of the year, I really contemplated changing careers

I was able to accept myself a lot more. My entire perspective to life changed. So after 1215 years of being in one career and fitting myself into one way of life, I realized that I became a traveler and a storyteller for life, and I started this whole nomadic lifestyle. And then I just realized everything that I had believed in, and all my perspectives just changed

And then when I heard you say, shoulda, coulda, would have, I started giggling because my wife keeps reminding me of that don't go through the shoulda, coulda, woulda. Just do it. And definitely right advice. So thank you very much for sharing, as usual. I love your stories. I tell my wife, I say, hey, listen, I got to listen to the disco duck here, man. As always, look forward to your next chat
