Noticing Life Along The Way | A Photo Invitation #AskSwell

And it's so amazing to see something so beautiful on something so beautiful. I actually took out the background because it had a car in it and a few other things, so I was able to just take out that and just leave the sunflower and the butterfly. And I wouldn't have noticed it, obviously, if someone didn't kind of draw my attention to it

I took this while walking down a street in Venice, CA

This photo was from a few days ago when I was taking a morning walk during that beautiful golden hour in the morning. And they're doing some construction nearby and so they've also torn up the ground and there's the mess everywhere. But there was just this beautiful captured moment of the way that the light was shining, the shadows created, and just that sort of out of time moment, if you will. That was really lovely

And I just kind of stood there and watched it and grabbed my phone and, of course, snapped a photo. I did a little editing on it, of course, as you can see, and I stood there until it just kind of went away and got in the car and left. But it definitely made me stop for a moment and just watch this beautiful little creature just living. So great idea. Thank you for this

So there was also a kung fun style called the Prayer Mantis. So maybe that's where that come from. But yes. Anyway, this is a picture that I wanted to share with swell. Really fun topic. And that's a beautiful picture that you shared yourself with the butterfly on the sunflower. Anyway, thanks again for sharing this. Well, and have an absolutely wonderful day

And it was beautiful, especially in the dark sky with the contrast of the dark sky. So they go running up the hill to get in line, and you can see them doing that in the picture, and I just thought it was a beautiful moment. Of course, I altered the picture a little, too, but it was still as beautiful to see it in person. I hope it says beautiful to see it in an image. Thanks so much

Hey. I just wanted to thank the three of you so far for adding to this thread. It's exactly what I was hoping to see through the eyes of another. What what they're seeing in a moment. It's so satisfying, you know, obviously, from nature to to doing things that are surprising, and in the moment we see them, we're seeing them a bit differently because we're open to that. Right?

As you see in this picture, a child is actually swinging and playing with the water while holding a leafy stick. So I really liked it. If you closely look at it, the child is actually observing the water with great attention, and he's looking at his own image, appearing, disappearing. So I saw that he's completely lost hypnotized in that moment. That's what it's all about

Oh, my God. Tara, I have to tell you, I remember as a kid doing something so similar. I think I was literally doing something exactly like that. When I saw the picture, I just took a breath and I was like, God, that's so familiar. It's funny, because I'd never particularly liked the experience of swinging. And to this day, my stomach and head doesn't like that kind of motion

And then you're always wrong because it's like something inside a refrigerator and you thought it was like a part of a leaf in the sky in the yard. Like, it's just crazy. It's really fun to do that. In fact, that's a great post we could do, where people have to take detailed shots and we have to guess what it is based on a small thing. I'll do that. I'll set that post for next week

And I just thought it was really neat to see this little snail picking up house and moving from one end of the sidewalk to the other. Hope you all enjoy. Bye

It was just breathtaking. How romantic, how surreal. It just brought me a lot of awe. And as you can see, the Singh is hanging from the tree. You can see the lake in the distance. Beyond the lake you can see the snowcapped mountains and you can see the Panoramic view and it is actually at such a height that you are almost like bringing in the air from the clouds. Wanted to share here and thank you for this post

Hey, Deborah. Thanks for this cool thread. I make a practice out of noticing as a photographer. It's kind of what drives me. So today I was riding my bike, noticing things, as I rode along Venice Boardwalk, and I noticed this cool colored wall with an inset kind of a store window thingy, metal. And it just looked like a really perfect frame for something. So I hung out, waiting, noticing people walking by

So it just struck me, and when I look at it, it still strikes me and brings back memories of the work that I do or did that weekend with those families just to help them readjust after long, difficult combat deployments. So that's the backstory to this picture. And so it reminds me of that sir purpose. So hope you guys enjoy

Enjoy Nature!

How's it going? Great idea for a swell. The first picture I decided to throw up is just one of the last hikes I took. And yeah, it was amazing. I can never convince anybody to go hiking with me. It's very rare. So I end up out there by myself in the middle of nowhere. But I get to see some pretty amazing things out there

And I'm pretty sure this lady has seen things and gone through things that I can't fathom as a young man, let alone as a man. So it's just one of those shots where I look at I just really love it. And I am working on a photo book, and I would like to put these type of things in there with a bit of some notes and commentary on the subjects, but we'll see. But yeah, let me know what everyone thinks about this

I love visiting this conversation to just take a peek at what people are seeing. And I got to call out you two had gamer and fateslicer with reference to the power of nature kind of totally enveloping us and calling us to be still for a second and to take a peek in. Super beautiful post. Thank you so much

Harvey, your photo is so provocative along with your narrative. I have to also say, in terms of her carriage and her just her attitude is so strong. It comes through, so there's such narrative around it. But one thing visually that just totally delighted me was the buttress of the building, the curb of that, and then the curb of her hair, and sort of the two interplay so well together. Her hair is fabulous. Anyway, just a gorgeous shot
