Brittney Griner faces 10 years in Russian prison: US reaction divided. Where do you stand?

article image placeholderBrittney Griner pleaded guilty in Russia to marijuana charges, so what happens next?
And just because you do it without intention doesn't necessarily make you innocent. It's just a cautionary tale for everybody that travels into another country. But I'm truly not understanding the animosity here and why people are almost celebrating the fact that this woman over in Russia will be facing ten years in prison

It just happens to be that she's somebody that fits the I wasn't even intending on using this phrase, but she fits the description that a lot of these people are looking for when it comes to trolling or hating on people. Like you said, woman, professional athlete, tattooed, gay. All of these things contribute to the hate that we see fueled on sites like Twitter constantly. The marijuana thing is just astounding to me. I firmly believe that nobody should go to prison for consuming marijuana

So if you go over there and you break their laws, no matter how we feel about it over here, it is what it is. I remember back in the believe it was young white kid, I forget his name, maybe somebody out there can help me

Hey, Grace. Well, I loved it. I agree 100% with all that you have said, and I really appreciate this. I came across the it through the trending post, so I was like, let me check this out and see what most people have to say about this. Or some people. And I was glad you were the first person. And keep up the good work, and I'll continue to follow. God bless. Take care. Five stars on that. Bye

Thank you for daring to ask the question. https://s.swell.life/STBKkJXSmBg4tCq

Hey, good evening. I saw this swell and incidentally, I think maybe the day you posted this well, was the day that I was I think I might have been reading the same article, the New York Times. I was reticent to respond because I find myself having less patience for ignorance and social media, all these sort of keyboard heroes and folks that just say crazy things because it doesn't really affect them at all and they're operating out of their privilege and ignorance

Bill Richardson on his way @PKGriggs

Now, he's not going over there as a diplomat of the White House, so he'll be able to negotiate both sides of this deal. And I think that is good news for Brittany Grindr. Now, PK, you had mentioned that nobody should go spend ten years for the amount of pot

That is Hope 🙏🏾

Hey, Phil, thank you so much for responding to your swell. That is hopeful. And I really hope that they are able to, you know, perform a miracle, if we want to call it that at this point. And I did hear that too, about that. Maybe it was planted. I didn't know if that was just like conspiracy stuff, so I didn't really think about that too much. But anything is possible

Hey, Phil, I think you definitely hit it right on the nose. I think that a lot of people who have an issue with, I don't know, her not going to prison is really because they don't want to see themselves within her, because she has so many immediate outward differences than them that you mentioned
