But to be locked away is a very, very strong decision, and I fully support it for people that are violent, and it's guaranteed that the rate of recidivism and that and that person's profile is going to be egregious and they're going to just keep on creating horrible crimes. We can't have them on the street 100%. But my question is, how do we make that assessment? Who makes that assessment?
I don't know what metrics are in place to determine the sincerity of that person and the true sincere rehabilitation that they have made to really try to improve their life and that they deserve that second chance. I do believe there are some people that do deserve second chances. God knows I've made plenty of mistakes and been given a second chance. Personally, I have a hard time with a murderer or someone who has murdered unless there's some very strong extenuating circumstances

I have such respect for where you're sitting and your perspective, and I think people taking action from their personal values and their own sort of self exploration and soul searching, that's when whatever result comes is the right one. So I feel very clear that your perspective is one of great value. I also think, to your point, like, God, I don't know if our system ever is going to be set up so that we know what metrics to look for
