Every so often, we're reminded that the Google Google digital universe navigate static. Static but ever evolving. A new update from Google serves as one such reminder. So Google has decided to make a very bold move. Starting from December, any Google account left untouched for two years will be deleted. Now, this is not about out data management. It's a statement about security, responsibility, and, I believe, the importance of active engagement in our digital lives

Google to delete inactive accounts starting December. #google #digital #internet #life

This was a decision that was made for a lot of probably smart reasons, but a lot of us don't manage our data and our passwords and our usernames that well. And it's probably going to be a real shock, but way down the line when someone goes back and says, oh, I use that particular thing with this Gmail account and they go back and it doesn't exist. So I really want to first of all, thank you for letting us know about it

I think a lot of this comes back to, if you look at these online.com social media companies and how they're evaluated, a lot of it is based on their users, how many users are using the service, and there's a lot of skepticism around this. We saw this when Elon Musk purchased Twitter. A lot of the accounts may be zombies, they may be bots. There's people who have an account and they die

Bob. I also think it opens them up for liability. Because what if I get disabled? It's my account. Let's say it's an account that I've used for several years and people communicate with me. Maybe important financial information comes into that account. And because I am going through a period of disability, I was unable to check that account. And lo and behold, the account vanishes
