They've never had to try to repair one, so they didn't know how to fix my chest. So it took them a couple of weeks to come up with a plan. And this was done at the VA hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I knew they had good doctors there in Ann Arbor, but anyhow, so they operate on me. Doctor told me what all they're going to do, but they didn't know if it worked or not because it'd never been done before

What an absolute wild story. I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed listening to this, but also yeah. How could you doubt that that things happen for a reason? That's a prime example. I do have a question about the bowls that you ride. Do you meet them? Do you know them? Are those your bowls? Do you have a relationship? Do you have a language? I mean, you're riding them, so they're part of your style. Is it always a different bowl? Like, when do you actually meet the bull, or is it just right when you'd get dropped on the bull? Is there anything there about knowing that bull? I'm always curious

What an incredible story. I just really can't believe it, actually. And I think I speak speak for most of us when I say I don't know how many of us would have ever gotten back on a bowl after that. So absolutely unbelievable. And this is really why I purchased the book and why I'll be tuning into the podcast

Th if you have never seen the bull's b*** before, first time you meet them, per se, would be when you arrive at the Rocio grounds and you go to the pen with the bulls in it and you look them over and find the bull that has its branded number that the judges had drawn for you
