Hello everyone, and this is Benefits with Alex. So today I'm going to be talking about the difference between PPO and HMO. One of the main questions, and most frequent questions that I got is, first of all, what is PPO, what is HMO, what's the difference, and which one is better? So I'm going to start with what's the difference between PPO and HMO? What are they exactly? When it comes to PPO, you have access to out of network benefits

alot of people always ask me what is the diffrence and which one is better

Like they help you decide what's best for you based on your income. I'm with Kaiser Permanente, which I believe is an HMO, and it's very specific to their world and I can't break out of it at all. But it's wonderful if you're healthy. If you're not healthy and you want second opinions and you want to look at things more independently, it's not a good network for you

Hey, great question, Deb. Yeah. I also really love this swell. I am like many other people, definitely Americans, when I can say that we don't really know too much about healthcare. It's just kind of one of those things, kind of like taxes. We know enough to get by. But generally speaking, it seems as though when it comes to the real nitty gritty, it's just a foreign concept, almost like a foreign language

I say they're not expensive as having a PPO with a $500 individual deductible, but it's not as inexpensive as having a high deductible health plan with a 3000 or $4,000 deductible. So it really comes down to that. I believe cop structure plans provide that control. It gives you that structure for the beginning of your journey because the learn actually that you would want to think about is how much is this going to cost me? Because I hear that a lot

They need to take care of more of their health or wealth because unfortunately, if you get sick and you're not financially prepared or you don't have a benefit plan that's going to be able to provide you with the majority of your expenses, you can go bankrupt just by becoming sick
