I drove solo from Chicago to Fairbanks, Alaska!
You. Good morning. I am back with a new photo from a trip that I just completed a few days ago. I started in Chicago and I drove down to Montana, entered Canada through Sweet Grass, Montana and I drove to BAMS in Alberta and then stayed there for one and a half days. And while camping in my car, however I did camp or I did stay in a hostel in BAMF. However I think I preferred my car overall

I drove there, and I was hosted by this librarian, actually, because I was raising money for a library, and she sort of pointed to me and said, okay, go take this hike. And I took this hike in this valley, and it was just one of the most striking experiences, just the vastness of the Yukon. I just can't believe you've seen so much beauty in such a gorgeous trip. I mean, I can't. It's it's just too much
But to hear somebody who doesn't have any potential biases traveling through and appreciating the beauty that is Canada, it makes my heart warm. I just think it's really an amazing place, and I'm so happy to be able to live here. I loved hearing about BAMF and potentially the hostel and the photos. It reminded me of some trips I've made in the past and hostel visits in BAMF. Anyway, I just I really appreciated this. Thank you

So it was definitely something that pushed my limits, something that wasn't an easy decision. I questioned myself well, through probably another 800 miles past BAMF in Canada, whether I can still turn back. Nothing went wrong. Everything went great. And I just think, like, the fear of the unknown. I was scared of driving in mountains, like, high up in mountains and overlooking cliffs and not having something to hold, like, guardrails. That's what I was afraid of

But when I saw BAMF and just so beautiful, I immediately thought to myself, this is going to be closed between Alaska and Banff. And then as I drove through Canada, and the vast beauty everywhere, everywhere. The Ice Fields Parkway and the Yukon, all of Alberta. Wow. And then British Columbia, and I am amazed. I am absolutely amazed. I mean, it's our neighbor. It's right there. I live in Chicago. It's just one state away
Oh my goodness. So much of what you said. Yes, like when I first moved to Canada, I had those exact same feelings. It's our neighbor, how come I didn't know? And there's just it's such a massive country and the population by comparison is so low and there's such diversity and so much to see. I've never been to Victoria, but I'd love to go someday

You're. Thank you so much for sharing that. That looks absolutely beautiful where you went. How long did that take you to complete that road trip? Because I really want to do a road trip kind of in that area as well, and just curious pros and cons of driving from here into Canada. Thanks so much. Bye

You're. Hey, yeah, thanks for commenting. I did feel safe. I kind of looked into the, you know, what I should be aware of before I went on this trip. I joined a there's actually a group on Facebook for driving up to the Alcon or the Cat Years, I think that's how you say it highway into Alaska through Canada. So I joined that group. And there's a lot of advice from people who have taken these routes in the past

I don't want anybody, like, pressuring me to go faster. And then, if anything, I always knew that if were to happen, there was cars just a few minutes away, which was always the case, and tons of wildlife. I always stayed in my car. I didn't approach them or anything like that. But, yeah, it was a great trip. So I highly, highly recommend it if you'd make that drive

That would be a dream for me to do, and I have the perfect person to do it with. So anyway, I really appreciate your time and that you took out to explain things to me. I really appreciate it. I hope you have a great day. Bye
