A navy called it was this young lady, must be in the mid teens, and they had not left the compound, fortunately. So he politely gestured towards her, and she came in and said, Is this your phone? She said, yes, took the phone and went away. And that kind of left me absolutely gobsmacked. I was like, no gratitude, no thank you, no acknowledgement, nothing. I mean, it tells you a lot of stories, isn't it?

And it might have stopped with her when she got the phone. Maybe people around the event saw it and that's beautiful, but if she's not tuned in, it's just a note in this large soundscape of people being human. Like, that's a note. That's a sad note. But then you continued the symphony and you were given this new sweetness from this human that held the elevator

What a lovely post. And food for thought as well. Well, I had one bit of an experience that I can share. I was driving down to this place, and just when I was about to make a turn, you know, right at the corner of the road where I was to take a turn, there was a bicycle parked

Hi and thanks for sharing this well and your experience. The two experience which are totally opposite of each other and I would say I totally agree. And if you relate to this instances I do have experienced many small kinds of experiences or other situations where this happened. So thank you for it. And as a Karma believer, I also feel like as they say, whatever you saw shall you reap. So we should wear gratitude every time

What you focus on grows. You focus on the good stuff, you'll have more of the good stuff, focus on the bad, complainy, whiny stuff, you'll get more of that. And I think watching the world around you, observing the world around you and choosing to focus on the kid that holds the elevator, is what makes life life positive

Hey, I remember one time when I was at the mall back in the day when people went to the mall and I had taken my money. I worked fulltime during the summer and part part time after going back to college and wanted to intentionally gift my parents for the holidays. And so I saved my money. I was really proud of myself that actually put money to the side in preparation for Christmas, even though it was a few months away

Nobody deserves to get yelled early in the morning. That too, on the occasion of the Valley. Right. But of course, there's nothing that I could do about it. And I just made sure that whenever this person came on to wait at my table, I was extra nice to him. I made chit chat, I made him feel comfortable. And before leaving, I ensured that we tipped him generously

Hey, Deborah, this is and thanks so much for yet another beautiful response. Absolutely. The intent comes through very well. I just want to share and express my gratitude for the time that you take, despite your busy schedule and inbox, which must be full of requests to respond. I can only imagine the amount of people tagging you on posts and expecting a response, and you still manage to find not just a response, but meaningful response

@Wordsmith

Yeah, absolutely. I often wonder, when did we as a society become so aggressive, so rude, so impatient? When did all this happen? Is it like pre Internet or post Internet or dates back to pre liberalization? I think I do recall back in the 90s when it was that much more easier to converse with people. People didn't assume so many meanings and subtext, and people were generally india was known as the most hospitable place to be in. Right

@weirdo_ishi

Thanks so much for your swell. Ishita this is quite interesting. What goes around comes around, right? I often wonder, does the same analogy hold true for those who do bad things in life? And if so, why are so many, many bad people out there still? If what goes around comes around, if you sow what you eat? If they sold hatred and they would get back hatred, at some point, they should have been an end to hatred, right?

A series of miracles @Her_Sisu

I took the train from San Jose right at the time. And so then from the idea was to go from period 39 to the train station and then take the train back to San Jose. Santa Clara, I think, was my stop. India is 12 hours ahead, San Francisco twelve was twelve and a half hours behind, whatever. We look at it. And so that is a cause for extreme jet lag, right?

@aayanman I can’t hear anything. I think your microphone disconnected while you recorded your responses for me and Ramya!

@Binati_Sheth

Yeah, thanks for pointing it out. I recorded the entire swell and realized that the microphone had deserted me. Anyhow, my two cent and I'll restate. I think what you're trying to say is very fascinating. That the inherent good quality in people which often gets understood or misinterpreted simply because somebody was having a bad day. And that did not occur to me at all. So thank you so much for sharing that part

As it turns out, people, when they find somebody more same authoritative, and people in power, when they find someone either equally powerful or someone more powerful than them, they automatically change the tone. And so I've seen this in many restaurants, and one of the common, very disrespectful way of getting the attention of a server is by snapping the finger. You know, they just do stuff like that or make a weird noise from the mouth instead of just politely raising their hands
