How Our Perception Shapes Our Reality/Part 1, A Binary World?

And not just connection with people, which is a big one for me because while I'm shy, like in a big group and everything, connections are very important for me. But not necessarily, like just having a best friend, but actually just interactions throughout my day in life, but also ideas in that same manner. And so I was reading an article and I wish I could have found it to post it here, but the other day often get up and scroll a little bit on the news

And I found I didn't have to throw the baby out with the bathwater, but that I was able to keep a lot of things. But just look at what served me and what did not. That's kind of how I now choose to operate overall. But I see very clearly that a lot of people that I love and care about, they they are not really able to do that. Or there's something about that that doesn't feel solid or grounded or secure to them

But anyway, so I think there's some of that going on. I also think existence is full of those nuances and complexities, those spectrums. But I think that the way that we make sense of it is to reduce it in our language and to reduce it abstract it into some way. Like science, for example

And the truth is the truth is both are true. Both are things that we need. And I do but I do agree with you with that. And more and more, I'm realizing that I think the danger can be like if you go completely into the world of everything is ambiguous, everything. You know, you can have no absolutes when you go into that, it can feel unsettling and like, there's no nothing to anchor you

I'll look for the link and I'll put it in here. But he basically says that the universe is on a spectrum. Everything that science measures can be viewed on a spectrum. And so it kind of reminds me of what Christina said about apples

I tend to sit in that camp and I can't help but think that with early man and woman for the purpose of our survival they very quickly tried to discern what is safe and what is not safe and whether that was their instincts or not or just observation. Early humans would look at a situation and say that's good, that's bad, that's safe, that is not safe. There's food, there is not. There's danger. This is safe

How coherent this is. But even in science, there's abstractions as well, because you have to come up with a premise and you have to sort of come up with a reductive idea of what you want to put to the test. Then you test it, you come up with some sort of solution understanding and it gives you some insight. But it's not the end of the story. It doesn't tell you the details of the apple, so to speak

I believe, you know, even if you read King James version of the Bible, it's in the beginning there was God and it doesn't talk about it talks about creating male and female, but doesn't say things were created male or female and in God's image. So I believe that we have all of us an element of those natures and they're on different spectrums just like our sexuality

I'm feeling the need to start, you know, talking out and being curious again about different things outside of my current emotional state, but but dig into those things that that do drive me as a human and and and connect me to this world and to humanity
