Creativity & The Judeo Christian Myth of Achievement

article image placeholderUploaded by @ZackPreston
Okay. Today I want to talk to you about creativity, the arts, and the JudeoChristian mythical demand for achievement in a Western society. My mom sent me a New York New Yorker article on Rajiv surrender, who they're calling like a renaissance man. He lives in New York, and he does all these creative projects, and he's a hyper achiever, right? My mom and I are both a lot more cyclical in terms of our creative processes

How do creative people navigate the capitalist achievement demand paradigm?

You pose a very interesting question because I think this is a really complex topic that has a lot of nuance just by default. And there is in some ways the need to commoditize art into product. And many artists feel they are only as as worthwhile as artists as their output. This is complex because so much goes into the creation of art in any form that the entire journey there, I would dare say, is 99% of what the output consists of and then the output itself. Whatever you want
