The reluctant cook and mageirocophobia

article image placeholderThe Fear of Cooking Can Actually Take Many Forms
Hey, swear. While this holiday season is going to be by and large home centric with family, there are several others that I remember that were fun with friends coming over to bring in the New Year party and so on. But what I dreaded the most was preparing for the occasion and specifically the cooking part of it. I fear cooking for large groups of people there. I said it, and I discovered that this fear even has a name. It's called Maggie of Phobia

Hey, Srija, this is a great topic. You know, I assume that pretty much any fear that exists. There's some long, hard word to pronounce that's associated with it. In the case of cooking, cooking is something I've always really enjoyed since I was a young kid. It was something I sort of had to do out of necessity

Megeiroco without the phobia - mageirocophile ?

Srija. I learn a new word and swell every day. The word you just pointed out phenomenal. Maguire or Co phobia. But I must say this. I actually enjoy cooking for a crowd. So the larger the party, the more happy I am. There you go. It's a wiring thing. I think I got it from my grandmother. She used to periodically Cook for very large groups of family members over the summer break. And I think I have the bug from her

Shija. You know, I don't have to reply to this, you know, way too well how terrified I am of cooking for big groups. You know, I'm freaking out right now with the a Christmas holiday coming and people coming over for the weekend. I just told you about it. So yes, I guess. What was that word again? Mage. Homophobic as h***

Repulsion 😅

And I found it incredibly tiring, exhausting and stressful because it's a multi dish activity and everything has to be served at the same time. It's all going to be hot or cold at the same time, whichever one. And although I love cooking and I like being creative, cooking for large amounts of people just stresses me out. Man, it's too tiring. And by the time we all sit down to enjoy the meal, I'm not that happy

Hey, thank you, everyone, for your responses. And from what I gather, Taylor Sudha, I think it's our moms and grandmas who have at some point or or the other sort of put us in a kind of an off of their talent to do this. These huge spreads that they come up with. My mom does that even today, it's another story that after the day she's kind of out for a week out of the kitchen

Hey, Howie, I don't mind the cleaning up. If you know, somebody would do all the cooking. And I'm sort of blessed in that sense because my husband is an excellent Cook. And when he's around, I just need to play Susan and do a little bit of cleaning up, which I don't mind. So I carefully plan out all these huge get together when he's around and is able to spare time to help me. I with the whole process
