Thank you so much sir for coming on for this interview. My questions are you have led Reliance Life Sciences over the last two decades and more. How has your leadership approach evolved over the years? What is your leadership style? For many, including myself, you have been a mentor, often discovering latent talent. You have helped many of us grow into able and inspiring leaders. How do you identify this latent potential?

And I must have done more than 100 programs over the last two decades because I always felt that organizations grow to the extent its people grow. So one needed to not only inspire, but also make a lot of investments in development of people. So that was one big change as far as the evolution as far as my leadership was concerned. The second aspect was realization that people work for people first and then for the organization. So it was all the more important to have more peopletopeopople engagement

Your second question was on my leadership style. I have always believed in consensusbased, decision and taking people along. I have a lot of tolerance for imperfection, but one thing that I will not tolerate is attitude issues. So how great a person is to me, behavioral or attitude issues is a big no when I say that I have tolerance or imperfection. I do believe that nobody is perfect and different people are at different levels of abilities on different days

Shrijah. Your third question is on identifying latent potential. I don't think I have a ready answer for this. What I generally look for in people is the sincerity, the level of commitment. And then if they have that spark and then it doesn't not matter what the context is, but as long as a person is sincere, is committed and has some bright spark, that's what gets me interested in a person. And then I'm willing to look at providing opportunities

Fourth and final question is on three tenets of leadership to help aspiring leaders in the journey. I think the first and foremost tenet is that you have to lead by example. You cannot be an armchair manager. You have to roll up your sleeves and be able to show, demonstrate and lead by example. So this is one tenet. The second is all about discipline

The third tenet of leadership is treating your organization as an extension of yourself. When you take decisions, ask yourself a question as to how you would do it had it been your own resources that is at play. For example, if you have spend money, ask yourself if it was your own money, how would you spend it? I think that puts a lot of responsibility on oneself
