@SreejaV - it took 5 Jedis to defeat the clone army!

So explain the benefits and understand the perspective how teams and organizations can move forward basis this change and that's why you're doing it. Clearly lead by example. Leaders actions speak louder than words. If you're going to give lip service and just people pick up the subtext very quickly, they're very, very smart people. And so if the leaders don't show how it is to be done, then it can be counterintuitive. But there is a dichotomy to that as well

Never stop learning. Or unlearning, for that matter. Seems to be the key. Thank you for that detailed response. My second question is we often see leaders resorting to micromanagement and engage in doorship rather than navigating the ship, allowing the team to give their best. What would be your or advised to such leaders?

@Wordsmith : Micromanagement lightsaber!

That being said, here's the other side of the story, that one has to differentiate delineate between monitoring and interfering or being overbearing. That is where the problem lies. And that's owing to a lot of leaders not being able to balance these two things. They become collectors or extortion agents, for lack of a better expression. They go around the table or around the room or the production floor and say, hey, how much have you got? How much did you deliver?

Well, this is a fantastic perspective, I must admit. I think, as you said, micromanagement need not be negative at all. It is managing better right from the start, so that at the culmination, the leader is in control, rather than having to push the team at the end towards getting those results. This is a remarkable perspective. Thank you so much for that

@Wordsmith : mornings never show the day! The 30 ft putt story.

So this experience is about a very bad day, which started off as a very bad day and it's very proverbial right when the things are bad, the clouds turned dark and that day it was pouring cats and dogs. It was absolutely devastating. The kind of rain that probably never had happened in the area of the region before. To add to this, I had invited the team for an early morning breakfast meeting

@Wordsmith : morning’s never show the day

The Kudos Wall was filled with our team's name. People from other regions and territories called us up, saying, hey, how did you guys pull that off? 23% has never happened in that business. And I'm proud to say they have never looked back ever since. So Mornings never show the day
