article image placeholderUploaded by @Wordsmith
The questions that I have for Dr. Malik as part of the Leadership series are as follows number one from heading the business cluster for regenerative medicine to ensuring effective integration and execution of clinical, regulatory and commercial strategies. Functioning as co lead of manufacturing new product development, regulatory and medical function to working with global regulatory and clinical trials. Team for strategic US FDA submissions. You handle diverse teams and roles within your organization. What is your Leadership Mantra to help achieve excellence across across the board and keep the teams motivated?

So I think first and foremost, thank you so much for inviting me here. Well, as you rightly mentioned that I'm handling diverse teams and different businesses. I think the most important you can say mantra. Our principle, which I have always followed is whether for hiring or for whether for working with people, is that you should hire people who have been better than you. You should work with people who are better than you

So the biggest challenge which I feel I faced was how do you connect the work of every team member to the larger values and larger impact of the organization or the vision of the organization? And this doesn't happen overnight. Every action at the top management speaks a lot, people are observing you. So if you are doing what is right every time in sync with the larger values or are you creating an impact and regular communication? I think in leadership there is no under communication

In sports it's mentioned that you are as good as your last innings in commercial rules also you are as good as your last month or last quarter. So there will be failures. But successful leaders will always take learnings from failure and move up for the larger success which is coming up. And for that work ethics. And striving for excellence is, I think, very important

When you talk to him, you will realize that the focus and passion is as strong as a teenager. And I think when you come out of a meeting him, you feel that you want to learn more, you want to work harder, you want to build more larger business. I think these are the leaders who really leave a lasting impression on us. Of course, beyond that, some of the leaders whom I have always been inspired was Mr. Ranjit Sani or Mr. Rehan Khan
