# VoiceYourOpinion Diwali and Fireworks

article image placeholderUploaded by @Wordsmith
Diwali is around the corner, and it's that time of the year when, along with festivities and sharing goodies with friends and family, we also enjoy treats. I start worrying, however, about the impact that the fireworks have on the environment. I actually dread driving or walking through streets around my community because I'm totally crypt in fear worrying about that Lakshmi bomb going off right under my nose

And for me, DiPavali is more of just sitting quietly and spending time, whatever time I have with my family, because the schedule has been very hectic for the last three years, since I started up. And this is a very tricky point. Everybody would love to have the festival by their own ways, their traditions, that every household has their own tradition to do a puja and the way it goes around it. And everyone love. Few of might not love bursting crackers. The majority does it

Stay safe, respect the environment, not just the people, but even the vegetation and the animals around. And enjoy your vacations, enjoy the holidays in a safe zone. Thank you and Happy Diwali to you Srija and to all the listeners out here, happy holidays

Of course, very few people actually stuck to that. On the Diwali day, we could hear crackers go on till 11:00 p.m. At night. And as you rightly said, there are some things that we can change and some things that we cannot. But one does hope, as they say, hope moves the world, that things will sort of, at least the Gen Z that is going to come up will think through this

Thank you. Mitakshara Hope you had a wonderful Diwali. And yes, I agree. And I think slowly people are becoming aware and people are nudging one another also to be mindful about what they choose, how they choose, and how they go about actually bursting firecrackers. So let us hope for a wonderful year ahead and for more mindfulness to come in when it comes to our festivals and traditions and enjoy through sharing and caring for one another, I think that's what matters the most
