Can reading inspire children get close to nature?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Wordsmith
In these books, the surroundings around the descriptions of landscapes were as important as the characters themselves, and I somehow grew to observe the natural surroundings around me, perhaps view them from the angle of prose, of how I might describe the setting if I were a writer. But most importantly, I learned to appreciate nature. Have any works of fiction or nonfiction inspired you to take more interest in the natural environment around you?

Hi yes, definitely. Reading will inspire kids because consciously they'll be enjoy reading but subconsciously it is like we are sowing a seed inside their mind where they not only create the nature but they will take responsibility to preserve it

Hi. I think drawing a connection between reading literature and being more inspired to discover, explore or engage with nature is a very interesting concept. I'm a product of the attention economy myself from only 17 but when I was a kid and even now I think that interest is transcended. I do remember reading books with absolutely beautiful nature descriptions. So books like Weather Products sing the Call of the Wild, the junk single book Life of Thai
