Poetry | But My Skin

And it is called but my skin time heals most things packaging and so forth but where we go if things aren't the same time doesn't change what the past echoes next to partitions laced by stonehenge I'd cry but it wouldn't be real I'd scream but it seems all too stereotypical post a child hold my hand I promise I'll take you down because I can't make you happy and you're just sad enough to keep me around in the womb I hold our wounds outside of my mind I compromise most things no longer feel existential most faces are attached to the dead I've cultivated within another wary apothecaries with him can't throw stones chipping rocks off my back picking skin singing flesh feeling nothing don't know which mutilations I want to participate in next inspiring minds think alike and none of us are truly alive unless we thrive off the blood of another shortcomings bring your bag, meet me at the corner of love and trust I'll never find somebody else if I tie myself to that dead version of self that left with you who can understand that there's a part of my soul intertwined with the ghost bring your bag, meet me at the corner of denial and mistrust always comparing the body to the soul that was left open stab me in the face because the heart doesn't exist the things that become fabricated yet erased by id bring your bag, meet me at the corner of sabotage and truth I don't know how to let myself be happy want it, crave it red brick it, concave it I'll mess up again I'll mess you up again

……"just bring your bag."

None of us are truly alive unless we thrive on the blood of other shortcomings. Yeah, I like it. Keep going

Do you have a spot? Are you putting these up somewhere, like substack or something so I can actually read them? I love to read, like, read poetry. It helps me get into it. I'd love to actually read this written down, if you could do that. And any poetry you have. I love poetry so much

@RoosterCollins…..I’m not too hard to find. 😂

You actually, yeah, I don't have a substac. I thought about having one but then I didn't want to transfer everything that had been on like this one page that I've had, I've had a Facebook page for the poetry since like I think like 2011, 2012 and transferring everything just seemed and felt like a night mayor. So there's stuff there and that's under the same name here, that's under wickedgypsybird, facebook.com whatever

You. Oh, wow. That was profound. I really saw a lot of parallels, you know, in that it's like we. We self destruct. We. We hide, you know what I mean? Ourselves. And then we kind of, like, anesthesize ourselves, you know, and sickly enough, we kind of think that it's a form of bonding

@mauriceaoki Yesssss!!!

You. Hey, man, I thoroughly appreciate your commentary because there are things about how I write that you just caught onto, and I love that. I try to. I feel like the easiest way to explain to people how I write, definitely, when it comes to poetry too, is it's I write from the viewpoint of the main character and the antihero, who are the same person and what that conflicting battle looks like emotionally, internally and physically. So you got it

Like, basically, do I let Saint or heads prevail and then also learning how to take these two personas within ourselves and blend them for the good of the whole. You know what I mean? For the good of the whole person and the good of society as a whole? I'm trying to say, because it's like you need some of this negativity, and you also need positivity in order to make it through the day
