Episode 1: Is Cisgender A Slur Or Not?
Hey, everybody, my name is Denitra. I'm your wellness coach. And my name is Danielle. I'm your Gen Z guide. So today I saw a tweet from Elon Musk. He's the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, and he made a tweet that says, repeated targeted harassment against any account will cause the harassing accounts to receive at minimum temporary suspension. The word CIS or cisgender are considered slurs on this platform. What do you think of that, Denitra?
I think what also frustrates me is that he will make blanket statements or decisions for his own personal perspective, negating or neglecting to take into consideration that this platform is not all about him. And for him, it's the same thing that some politicians will do. They make these blanket decisions from only a limited perspective, but they work for all citizens. Not citizens that always agree with them, but all citizens
So it's extraordinarily frustrating to me to see these terms being politicized when they are just an acknowledgment of reality. The reality being if you are assigned male at birth and you identify as a boy or a man, then you are inherently cisgender. That is just scientific fact. If you're assigned male at birth and you identify as a girl or a woman, then you are transgender or vice versa for someone assigned female at birth. And it's a factual statement

So many great points, Stevie. When you were mentioning that these words transensus have their basis in Latin and again weaving it back into science and so on, it reminded me of a tweet Elon put out some time ago now, about how Twitter is going to be all about the science. I wondered at the time what that meant. Now even more, I'm not sure what he means by that, because the contradiction here is astounding
