Winter Olympics France and Salt Lake City

Where once cities would compete and spend millions of dollars on proposals, now a preferred bidder is chosen from promising candidates. The size of the modern Olympics means that for many cities, it's uneconomic building the infrastructure would cost way more than they gain in tourism. For the Winter Games in particular, only a few countries have the snow cover required, and that number is thinning as a result of global climate change. For Urban legends and stranger truths. I've always wondered why we're not seeing more repeat hosts on a more regular basis, especially with the Winter Olympics. I think we'll see more of stuff like this in the future, countries like or places like Utah and France getting it because the infrastructure is already in place. And I think it's just way too cost prohibitive these days for a country like Sweden to actually build out the infrastructure that needs to happen in order to host the Olympic Games

However, NBC did a very wise thing and they partnered with different social media. So their social media viewing is actually pretty decent. The 16 to 34 year olds, about 43% of them are watching the Olympics when they occur
