Bozophobia the Fear of Clowns

article image placeholderUploaded by @Urbanlegends
Clowns, however, seem to have mastered the art of bringing that fear out to the surface. Our thanks to Jake Rosen at Mental Floss, Frontiers in Psychology, the University of South Wales, the Washington Post, and, of course, Stephen King. For Urban legends and stranger truths. I'm Bob Dennis

And where did that fear come from? You actually mentioned it. So I went to a neighbor's house down the street when I was eight years old. This was back when, I guess, parents didn't as closely monitor what their kids were watching because he invited me over to watch Dad's VHS. It Stephen King's. It the made for TV movie. I did not get to the second part. I only watched the first part because it scared the living daylights out of me

Hey, Bob. Thanks for this. My kids don't like clowns, you know, like everybody else. I am not scared of clowns. I don't think they're funny. I don't think it's cute. I don't think it's funny. I don't think they're entertaining. You know, if a clown touched me on my shoulder and I turned around, I probably punched him in the face. But, you know, not out of fear
