Are Naps Good for You?

But entering a deeper sleep phase has a negative effect on the creative insight. In other words, there may be a sweet spot of mental relaxation that clears away for a eureka moment. The short term benefits of naps are well established, but long term effects are a little less clear. In particular, there has been debate about whether naps are good or bad for the cardiovascular health after mixed epidemiological research was published on the topic. Self reports of how frequently people nap and for how long are pretty unreliable

I don't know what time of day it is. I don't know anything. And my sister's opposite, she can nap for hours. And I'm like kind of scared about that because research kind of says if the brain at our age is that dormant, um, it sometimes is one of the causes for dementia, alzheimer's. The brain is not being kept active. So kudos to your grandma who lived to 93

That helps me to handle the meeting in the afternoon, because some of those meetings can be long and sometimes it can be boring, where you listen to someone talking for a long, long time and that makes me sleepy. But if I take a nap, then I can handle that. And secondly, if I'm driving, if I have to commit for about 2 hours drive or so in the daytime, it makes me also sleepy

So if you walk in the door at 100%, say, in the morning, when you start out at work in the afternoon after that break time, it showed that the people on his staff within his company actually returned to a minimal level of 75% as opposed to those who did not take the rest period who were functioning more or less at about a 50 percentile. So I see that it does have value and I appreciate it. Plus, I kind of like naps. Thank you
