Dog Years

article image placeholderUploaded by @Urbanlegends
So, for example, a five year old small breed dog would be roughly equivalent to a 36 year old human, while a five year old large breed dog would be more like a 40 year old human. By understanding the unique aging process of dogs, we can better appreciate their life stages and provide appropriate care and treatment to ensure their health and well being

Interesting. I wonder what it's like for cats. Like, I remember reading a number of years ago that the first two human years for a cat was equivalent to X number of years I can't remember. And then after that, every human year was equivalent to something like, I want to say four cat years

So, just out of curiosity, I looked up about cat years, and this scale only goes up to 14 years of age, but and they have indoor and outdoor ages, interestingly enough. I didn't realize that was such a thing. But at the highest end of the scale is 14 years. And at 14 years, an indoor cat is 72 years old and an outdoor cat is 120 years old. That somewhat surprising and odd. Does that mean we should all move outside and live longer?

Thanks for this interesting upload. As a pet owner of dogs and cats and one who recently went through the loss of a 13 year old dog, longtime valued member of the family, I'm just here to say I wish they could all just stay with us a little bit longer. I know how it goes. Thanks again
