In its glossary, the term pig a back is defined as being quote said of schoolboys that ride on one another's backs straddling an Irishman would carry a pig. So in other words, like boys carrying each other, or how a farmer might carry a pig on his back. So anyways, while piggyback rides never really referred to people riding on pigs, some of them may have involved pigs riding on people. Does that make sense?
