I never said anything, but all for my heart and soul. I'd send him all the love and healing that I could, letting him know how much he was loved. And then he would make that big grin again, and he'd prance off into the kitchen to play with the other dogs. One day we came home and we found him screaming on the kitchen floor. And we did not know what happened

Oh, my gosh. What a story. I'm so sorry for your loss. But it does sound like he had one and a half years in heaven with you all. And I love the little details about the squirrels and your little morning ritual. It sounded so, so beautiful. And I'm so glad that you all had the opportunity to experience that, Diego included.
