The floor beneath was nothing but unpredictably undulating rocks that had become smooth as glass over the centuries, what with millions of feet having walked that surface. Furthermore, this rocky deck had monsoon trickle of water. So very timidly and squeamishly we started our slow progress into the cave. Every few steps I would be leaning on the guide's shoulder while he would point towards some wonder or the other. As one delicate step followed another. The mysteries of the cave they began to unravel

It reminded me of the time I was in Egypt and we were going down into the heart of the pyramid through those narrow tunnels. So with a lot of bravado, I kind of said, yes, I can do this, and I started navigating the tunnel. But somewhere, almost when we reached the midway, I was so claustrophobic, I neither could take a step further nor could I come back because there were already people lining up behind me
