Suicides Reach A Record Level

What questions can be asked? I don't know. I don't even know what to say. That is a tragedy beyond I don't even know if there's a way to quantify it, qualify it. I don't even know what you do with it. I don't know. I'm left just absolutely broken over that reality. So how do we talk about it? What do we say? What can we say?

They recently were approved as a nonprofit, so they're going to be doing a lot of work soon as it pertains to getting resources in place for people struggling with mental health. And I just want to say one other thing. Regardless of your age, race, gender, or your income, everyone's going to have some type of struggle. And now more than ever, it's vital to talk to someone about your issues, whether it's a counselor or coworker, supervisor, et cetera

And you look back five years and you think to yourself, holy shit, I worried about this so much. And I got through it. I don't know how I did it, but I did it. So now my perspective on things, thinking about what my grandmother said, I always think, what is it going to be like in five years? Is what this person says to me today going to matter in five years? Is this person even going to be around me in five years?

My Struggle with proposed solutions

I think maybe education in the sense of trying to help people see the warning signs that can lead to suicide, helping you see it in yourself and seeing it in others, and then how to possibly intervene in a way that could be beneficial and helpful. I know there's been lots of different programs where they've tried that, some advertising campaigns where they have done that to try to help people with mental health issues
