There’s No Such Thing as Self Sabotage

The brain would actually rather deal with physical pain than uncertainty. The brain cannot stand change, it cannot stand unfamiliar and it cannot stand uncertainty. And often you will see people who quote unquote self sabotage is they are often in a new environment. We'll get into that later. The next thing that is happening is that our outside world must match our inside world. And if it doesn't, we get very, very uncomfortable

So remember I said that the outside world must reflect the inside world. They don't feel like they deserve this person or this person is treating them in a way that they don't feel they deserve to be treated or they don't feel like it matches with their perception of who they are. So let's say their partner is treating them with respect, but they don't feel like they deserve respect. They're going to feel very uncomfortable

If we have emotional pain and it's overwhelming and we feel like we are out of control when we cause ourselves physical harm and then we feel like, okay, I am now controlling the physical pain rather than it being something else that's controlling my physical pain. So that's an important component to this as well. And remember, self love is an anecdote to most mental problems or mental wellness or life problems. So definitely work on your self love
