Open Phones & Broken Hearts: What is a healthy boundry with phones and privacy in a new relationship, when it was a source of deep pain in the past?
It was four years of what I now know to be dating a narcissist and one who had so much unresolved pain from his childhood that I allowed my understanding of that pain to eclipse my own emotional pain and at some point physical pain caused by his inability to truly love and to feel compassion for other people

But I think starting the conversation is the key. I think also, to me, at least, the effect that that had was it demystified whatever was going on on the phone. It's kind of the same thing. I dealt with this a lot when I was a kid of like, what if everyone laughs at me? Or what if they're making fun of me and hearing an adult say to me like, well, not everything. People are just going about their days
