Body Neutrality - Your Body On Your Terms

article image placeholderUploaded by @TheSimonShow
Well, first and foremost, surround yourself with people who value you as a person and not based on how your body looks. It's important, but there are other steps you can take to practice body neutrality. First off, be kind to yourself. Practicing kindness to oneself while diverting from harmful thought patterns is very, very helpful. Also, know that it's normal for body image to change, validate and normalize the ebbs and flows of body image

I don't want to not be able to walk because I'm carrying too much weight or my joints hurt due to weight. So those are my particular standards. If people are just hey, whatever your body does, if you eat yourself into a chronic illness because of course illnesses come from all over the place and whatever, then it's just whatever happens. I do like how it was mentioned. We should be doing some movement with our bodies. That's how our bodies are supposed to function

You're a person made by God in his image. He don't make mistakes. So I'm just glad that people are finally realizing that they should love themselves. You don't have to hate yourself because you're fat. You can hate what made you fat by changing the way that you eat, like I'm doing or trying to do. I love who I am, who I've become

And I do. I mean, I try to take lots of walks when I can and go to the gym when I can. I mean, I've got a membership, so crying out loud, I might as well just go. But I just recently moved and so my gym is a little farther than it used to be. But I'm not going to make that an excuse. I feel better when I do take those steps

Hey there, Evelyn. First off, thank you so much for the reply. Amen to everything you said. I love it. Absolutely love it. You have to be happy with who you are and yeah, you take responsibility for your actions in terms of how your body is. And mine's taken a lot of abuse over the years and yeah, I haven't eaten right, like, good. And a lot of other things and this and that

And it doesn't matter what type of exercise they do, how much waist training they do, they're not going to get those curvy hips because that's just not in their dna. But when it comes to things that we can control, such as our weight, I think that those things need to be addressed

So I don't know if I'm the only male that's posting this, but I think it's important for both men and women to love their bodies. Of course, but for you to love your body is also incumbent upon you to take responsibility for it, I. E. Making sure that you're taking care of it. So again, Tanya, thank you so much for chiming in and commenting, bringing some great, great conversation to the swellcast. Take care. Bye
