Remembering a Pop Legend: Karen Carpenter

article image placeholderUploaded by @TheSimonShow
Alongside her brother, Richard Carpenter, he played the piano and produced the music. The Carpenters achieved significant success, releasing numerous hit records and selling over 100 million albums worldwide. That's a huge feat in the. It's like you can go over that and it would be not that big of a deal, especially with plays and all that, but to sell 100 million albums for just a simple american pop group, I mean, that's a huge achievement

It. I so love and appreciate this post and I'll try to be brief, but like you, I love, love the music from all across multiple genres from the late 60s through the I guess maybe early ninety? S. And then something happened with the industry. I think that is the operative word here. But during the time of the great Karen Carpenter's voice, there was no question that all the music around and before her time, it was really about the music

So they did it in 1969, I believe the Carpenters did it in 71. Yeah. And, of course, Luther Vandross in 1983. So, yeah, each one of those versions has a unique sound to it. Of course, I'm partial to Karen's version only because the uniqueness of her voice brought a certain beat, and I'm talking like the heartbeat of the essence of the song. It was very emotional
