Banter: The Dating Strategy Buzzword That Needs Decoding

article image placeholderUploaded by @TheSimonShow
At its most thrilling, banter mimics the build up and climax of good sex. At its most disappointing, Banter may be branded on dating app bios but never experienced on a real date. It's time to work on podcast bantering here on this edition of the Simon show. I'm Simon Delarosa. Odd dating apps. They're a weird minefield of awkward bios, thirst traps, and a whole lot of hey, how's it going?

We're going to laugh in our conversation. I've always learned not to make an interview when you're dating someone, but just kind of like, talk and listen and people will tell you themselves, they'll show you themselves and you get to know a lot of what you need to know until eventually, if you want to kaye, take it further, then definitely get into some deep dives

When you're complimenting somebody or you're making them feel at ease during a tense situation, which when you're meeting somebody for the first time, especially if it's a date per se, you're going to try to say the right things. If you're more of an expert at it, you're looking at body language, voice, tempo. You're looking into their eyes. You're trying to do things to make sure that they know that you're the focus of attention

Let's attempt this. But yes. And you love that type of interaction. And men will definitely try it. In my experience, men will definitely try to introduce certain types of conversations just to see where you are, if you'll take the baits, if you will engage with them in these types of conversations, which will lead to more of these kind of conversations. And for some, the reality of us actually meeting in person is small

And I heard the examples like, I don't know if you're old enough to remember the show moonlighting, but that was a lot of banter and his girl Friday. I mean, a lot of those movies from the had that approach between the love interests. So I just found this to be an interesting topic

Simon on banter. This is wonderful. Immediately I was thinking, oh, banter is just a way. On the dating sites. I don't do the dating sites. You know, it's a way of saying that you don't want to go serious, you just want to have a casual encounter, is my initial thought. So I'm. I'm walking with you on this and I'm going to drop a few things that I'm learning here on banter. I really love banter

Hey, Shawna, thanks for the reply. Always good to hear from you. And you definitely hit the right marks on your reply to this banter. Swellcast, you took it into another dimension. And when I first read about banter, I'm familiar with the term, I am almost a disciple of it when I talk to members of the opposite sex. And a lot of it had to do with my upbringing through television

BANTER is officially in my tool box.

So I have not really recognized banter in the sense that you recognize it as a tool to do things with in an action sense. And that means I'm going to be working the banter. I have some events this weekend. I'm going to the gala, and I'm working the banter. And not necessarily just for romantic interest, but also for friends and new friends group. You ever meet a girlfriend that you just kind of go, oh, my God, you too? You too
