You. I experienced culture shock when I came back to the United States after living in West Africa and France for five years. It was completely different than what I was used to. I left when I was twelve, and I came back officially when I was 17, right before I turned 18. And it was a crazy experience to go to a mall and not hear people speaking French

Yeah, the language is, I think, a huge part of the culture shock. I recently moved to Denmark, and it feels really strange to walk around and be surrounded by people and not understand what they're saying. Sometimes it's kind of comforting. You can kind of get lost in the crowd. But other times, I feel like it's even maybe a bit dangerous not to know the language
