I would wait at least a day or two, if not to the second week of school, to talk to the teacher to ensure that these things are in place. Now, if they are not, first and foremost, talk to the classroom teacher. Set up a time when things are really quiet and really calm, or, hey, even take them out to coffee after school, something so you guys can have a nice conversation and not be interrupted in a civil manner, okay?

Another great one Leanne. That also deals with certain situations I have been in. I also agree that kindness is always key.

Now, as far as you mentioned about when it's good times to sit down and talk with teachers, I would say you made some really good points about, you know, waiting till, you know, after school, you know, finding time to take them out for coffee or even any such places
