School violence is on the rise. Why?

article image placeholderUploaded by @TheMs.Leanne
And you have the person bullying and you have the victim. And a lot of these victims feel that their only course of action is to retaliate because of how awful they have been made to feel. Which leads to the next one, mental health and mental health issues. A lot of the time that goes undiagnosed and parents aren't aware of the help that is out there

Please take this with a grain of salt. I am not an expert in high school students anymore. My kids are graduated. They're all college graduates at this point. But a couple things I've observed from substitute teaching in schools off and on over the last it decades, and that truly is I think what's happening is why the students are getting away with it more frequently are the teachers are afraid that confronting these students will turn them into school shooters. That is my number one rationale

So there is nothing in your response to me that I have to take with a grain of salt at all. I totally agree with you. And hopefully there can be a solution or something found somewhere. But until then, so thank you. I really appreciate your fonts and it was very thoughtful. And I liked your little stories, too. It was very cool. Thanks. Bye

You, this is really a heart wrenching topic to have to be discussing as a country. As a nation, we are in just a terrible state. We glorify violence s we believe that violence is the answer to most of problems that we might encounter. And I don't see us really getting out of that. And part of the problem, the largest part of the problem, I believe is that we're so polarized as a nation

I'm hoping that it's possible at some point, but I really agree with a lot of what you had to say, and I love how much thought you put into this and your passion. It was absolutely wonderful. Thank you. And I wish you all the very best. Bye

I had to try to break up three fights. And my last day subbing, or my last week subbing, was when a student picked up a glass, a piece of glass off the ground and started walking towards me with it, threatening my life. And so I knew right then I did not want to continue with teaching, at least not in that capacity

Had a knife put up my throat. I mean, it's not funny. I'm laughing because I'm uncomfortable, but it's not funny. But I totally understand where you're coming from. If I didn't have such a love for my children, there is my students, there is no way I would do this. So thank you for your candor, because I totally appreciate it. And like you, I actually do enjoy the one on one
