Can you create while you’re down?

Even if it turns out nice afterwards, the whole attachment to it for me is just like, I didn't like it. Youre know what I mean? I could do an amazing painting after being upset, and then if I didn't like it while I was doing it, I probably would never like it. I would hope that other people would like it, but it just reminds me of the frustration. I was frustrated the whole time I was making it

I find it hard to use my emotions for my passion. I feel blocked and it shows in my work. #Writer #Artist #MentalHealth

And I don't have great wisdom to share, but I do have a book to share that helps me a lot and then I go back to constantly. It's called The War of Art by Stephen Pressfield. And I'll read you a couple of quotes just to if you like it, if you like this vibe, check it out. But I think they got a good message in them. Okay, here goes the first one

@r.o

Glad I'm not the only one. I definitely like those quotes in the books. I'll have to check it out. And for the most part, I haven't really been expressing or physically doing creative things. Like, I always wrote a little bit, but I really just started painting last year, so I skipped the childlike attachment studies to things

Yes but… its all part of the journey.

You know, I could write and I could express whatever it was that was going on inside me. I think when you look at can you create while youre down? You can do anything you want. You can create in any way you want, doing anything you want. And yes, there have been a lot of pieces over the years that I have deleted or thrown away or just said, but in the times that I chose to share how excellent

@bravelyworded Patience is definitely crutial

Or if I made a painting and I was upset and I made it and I think it finally I broke through and yeah, I was frustrated while I made it, but now I managed to make it look okay, then I post it. People say it looks all right, but nobody wants to buy it. I don't know. Patience is definitely key, but I think the best thing that I can do is just continue to create stuff
