70 hour work week for better productivity? - The need to ask real questions!

article image placeholderUploaded by @TheDevilsHorse
Now, we have spoken from the perspective of, and I've spoken from the perspective of an organization and as a team. Now it is also an individual as well as a collective responsibility. So one must reflect on small steps. So incremental changes in individuals, teams and organization would certainly contribute to long term productivity. This could involve promoting a culture of punctuality, effective communication and definitely friends stress management. So let's address productivity challenges that extend beyond individual organizations and industries and the nation

And I myself put in more than 90 hours per week in my work because sometimes it is required and there will be weeks when I don't put in more than 30 hours because things are on auto mode and productivity is there. It is high. So it depends on what you're doing, how you're doing and exactly nipping it in the bud and taking care of those root causes. That is absolutely important

Again, it also depends on one's capabilities that we all know, right. Someone can do one work within 2 hours and the same work might be needed four to 5 hours by someone. And again, other factor comes is their expertise in that and their knowledge in that. So there are lots and lots of factors when we talk about this aspect. It is not a simple term like, you just work 70 hours, you'll get productivity. No, I don't agree with it

I'll be very plain and blunt about this, that corporates do not want talented people. They want people who can conform. They want people who can keep their mouth shut, who can keep their head down and take the least of the penny and continue to work. Because the whole idea is not about creating productivity. The whole idea is about compensating one talented guy for four unproductive people, for four unproductive, cheaper labor force. It's always about cheap

I think that's the kind of solution that we should come up with. We should give a reply. But the reply is not going. And that's why every single time some corporate head gets this idea and he comes up with funny things. I'm hopeful that this message reaches to them and they know what they're talking about and they know what comes back to them. Right, but I took it too far. But maybe the work culture comes when we give a breathing space to the employees

That's how the concept of churning works in a company. You need to identify the people who are working from the people who do not. Sometimes people who work, they are not able to express themselves, and because they are not able to express themselves, they're not able to prove they are working. That's where the identification of talent comes. Who is the proper mapping of the activities done by a particular individual. Otherwise, one person does the work, somebody else takes the credit

And if you listen to the Rajit's replies, you would understand. So this particular statement was made earlier that as a nation, we want to increase productivity. The young generation should look to work 70 hours a week. So it's not about agreement or disagreement. I was very surprised to see that it's coming from a person who himself have endured so much. So the perspective was that, and I'm not that stressed out

And I've seen really good people with lot of good potential and productivity go waste just because of this poor, poor workforce management. Just poor workforce management. And this is because when we promote leaders, they are not leaders, and they are worst of the worst managers. So I will come back to this one in detail. It's been a long day, but I just happened to listen to your viewpoints, and I could not stop myself to listen them again and again
