#thecheckin: Ep. 30 - Money Talks, Sports Walks

At one point, when you go into history, sports were used as a way to gnaw the public of a lot of angst towards the government. It's the original means behind the gladiator games. When you think of the coliseums and the lions and these different spectacles of violence and activity that were given to the public, it was meant to keep the masses from looking at the government and essentially growing so civilly unrest that they would go after the government and go after the powers that be

No such thing as a sporting event for us all, anymore. This is all revenue now. #superbowl #thecheckin #taylorswift #nfl

He lost two to the Giants and one to the Eagles. So to go to ten and win seven, okay, that makes you to go, not going to what? He went to six or went to five or something and one three or went to four and one three or something because I know Brady and I beat him once. So I think people really need to pump the brakes on how great this guy is. Really slow down. I mean, yes, he's great

People are going just so that they could be in a pub and drink while there's a soccer game on. And that, to me, is borderline insulting, honestly. So, yeah, just wanted to capture some of my thoughts here, but I think this was a really good post. Unfortunately, I don't see it getting any better, but those of us that are sort of on the same team here, pun intended, need to stick together, I think

He loves us. I think that was the tagline commercial. Very interesting. I won't lie. It did sort of capture my attention. But then, yeah, the whole stuff about them apparently being linked with hobby Lobby, who are very openly anti gay, anti abortion, and have other shady stuff that's happened in their history. But I don't want to go into that. And then I think I read that there was a commercial for Israel

And this is where we get the culture of being offended. This is where we get the culture of overanalyzing and not understanding certain sacred dynamics of different things that may not be for us, but may not be the worst thing in the world. And with football, like I've said, football has a lot of problems. Football has a lot of problems with racism, sexism, and all these types of different, very problematic social aspects
