"Identity"

article image placeholderUploaded by @The3rdOWL
Identity. I am rejected because I'm not enough, not enough or too little melanin. I'm neither black or Brown. I'm other. I hide my body because I'm not fit. I'm a f***** for attracting feminine energy. I'm queer for being myself. I'm not Latino or Hispanic, nor am I European or Spanish. These are shackles given to me by my colonizers. It's not me or who my people are

A powerful statement in the notion of identity. I think you rightly. Place the melting pot. If I could use that term or the multiplicity of engagements we have that form my identity and how you value all of them. But then you also see the trauma of some of those connections and how that also shapes our identity and areas that need healing. So I valued that. And I wanted to lift that up. It's a powerful, reflective piece there. Thank you for sharing

I love how you you point out the ideas or the constructs of identity, but also ultimately point out that these are these are shackles. And these are the things that are often given and not developed because identity we own it. It belongs to us. I believe it's influenced by everything around us. But what I our identity look like, how we show up. I think we're ultimately dropping the car. But thank you so much. That was good
