Are friendships important in adulthood?

And I try to push him to at least have one friend because I feel like we all need that one person, that one friend that we can go to, that we can lean on, that we could laugh with, that we could cry with, that we could just have fun with and just share life with. It's nothing like a friend, man. And I feel like we're in a generation where people don't even know how to be friends

As an adult, I have fewer friends than I did when I was a kid. Some of those friends have passed away. Others, we just fell out of communication. One of my closest friends of, I want to say, what, 23, 24 plus years. I actually met him on a basketball court, and we bonded over Dragon Ball Z. But as far as in the last seven years, I've only kind of made two great friends, and they are both online in person

Life happens because of that. I have been very tight all my life with using that word. So all my life I've only had truly three, four, max people I've described as friends. The rest are acquaintances. And I won't take up this while defining an acquaintance or associations. Now, there have been associations that escalated to a close association, almost progressing to an acquaintance or an acquaintance who was a close acquaintance, but very, very few friends, because I take that so seriously

And I was like, okay, here's an adult saying that. And it just sparked curiosity. But it also brought forward for me that we are in a different time now where we do have access to technology and consistent connections with people online that I guess they can rise to the level of being a friend if they're that consistent in your life and interactions with each other. That it expands beyond the game. And that you're likely sharing and having conversations about other intimate details about one another

So then he took it to go to my Facebook and try to engage with my family on my post there. It just was really weird. Older white dude. But yeah, so now I've kind of kept it where Instagram is the perfect medium. You got something from what I had said to T, and hopefully you're having a good day

Like if you're not spending so much time together, you're not getting to that place as fast. Not to say I haven't found death in my female relationship, but it's a lot different than those when I was younger. But I am very grateful that I feel like I have a really amazing friendship in my immediate life partner and we spend most of our time together
