R. Kelly convicted on all charges

article image placeholderSeptember 27, 2021 R. Kelly verdict news
There are a lot of other high profile celebrities that are doing pretty despicable things and are being allowed to do so. We know this is nothing new for the music industry or for the film industry. It is fairly more frequent, I think, than we care to admit, if anything, hopefully this just shines some light on the need for these sorts of things to be squashed right away. I mean, this cannot happen

#justice can happen

You know, I must say you took the word right out of my mouth, but honestly, I don't think that R. Kelly being locked up is enough. I think his whole camp, like you said, people that assist to him that allowed him to do this. That helped him do this. That funded this. In my opinion, the record label itself needs to be brought up in charges because not only were they complicit in this, but they funded a lot of this mess

It is so hard to believe, especially when you look at the for me, especially when you look at all of the accusations. They're disgusting. And how is he getting away with that? And that's what you guys are saying? There has to be many other people involved. Why are they not being prosecuted? If all of these people knew man to think that somebody could do that and get away with it for so long and sell records is crazy man

So I was a fan of his music, and I was a fan of her music. But I didn't know about their history, having been married, him having groomed her. And then obviously, I didn't really know about the other things that he was doing until I got a little bit older. And at that point, I think a lot of it was being generated by what we would, I guess, referred to now as like a rumor mill

But he made some great music I've listened to throughout my life, and they're a part of my life. Step in the Name of Love. That's one tune that my niece always says that she hears, that. She just thinks of me because I love to dance to that tune and vibes. Definitely. You've got that vibe. There are so many from the Chocolate Factory going all back. Love Letters, the album, so many good albums and all the memories

They brought these young girls to him. They brought these young girls to him for him to take advantage of. I mean, listen, we have this debate at work, and I work in television. I work for Al Jazeera English in Qatar. So I'm over here in the Middle East, and we had this whole conversation about playing his music and things like that. And my daughter, for one, hates when I play his music. She's like, oh, he's a child molester

But I like to answer your question now. I think I mentioned in this spread already. Sorry, I'm just left the train station. It's a bit noisy. I'm a fan. I have seen him three times in concert. I've got all of his music on vinyl and CD, everything on vinyl before twelve play and some twelve inch tracks. Maybe after that. And the only thing I don't have is the last two out because they were a bit disgusting

I didn't quite blame to R. Kelly in that way. It was just the music. And I think that helps because you don't have to remove yourself. I don't think I'm R. Kelly when I'm listening to his music, do you know what I mean? But if you're Prince and you're a real fan, he helped shape our lives. Prince interesting

Hi, Mark. Thank you so much for responding. I think you're right. It is a very thin line, you know, because I love the music. I'm not going to to say all of it. I feel like you about it, like the older stuff or the newer stuff that he's done. I kind of can't really get into it, but the older stuff, like when you first came out, there's some really brilliant work that was done

But I agree with you in the fact that at the time when that music came out, twelve play and born into the 90s and those tracks, man, I was like 20 or something 21, and everything was about dating and sex and having fun. And the music just was just perfect for the time. It became part of your identity. Who you were, man. Kelly, I was like it became part of who you were and what you did and you had the music to back it up

Hey, you know, I've got I've got you got me thinking and I thought of something else, and this is not, you know, I don't want to take away what he did

Trauma and our accountability to it

When you're a certain type of personality, we have to keep these people in check and in support so that they can make better decisions, especially when we can Intuit that maybe they've had abusive past. Maybe they've had traumatic, violent past and they're in this magnified position. Someone should check in and do a mental health scan and say, How's this person doing? How are they wired and knowing that this person might be wired a certain way to keep double and triple attention

There's nothing wrong with wanting something or doing something that to most society would be considered wrong. Right. And you talked about the shadow self and things like that. And I think you're absolutely right. And I have really looked at shadow work and things like that dealing with my clients. And I can tell you that. I think when he dug a little bit deeper and he started to understand himself, then he was able to make different types of music

He didn't worry about or was too concerned about the money he was making because all of it dissipated. People took it. People that he ran with, he was into sex. This man could have had everything I'm talking about. He had everything. But now all of that is gone. And sometime I think, and I say to God, Why didn't you give me this talent? Why didn't you give me this voice? But he gave it to R. Kelly

I thought, man, they're just picking on him at first. What's wrong? And I haven't listened to the testimony. I've listened to a little bit of a girl breaking things down on YouTube and she seems to know follows each day by day. So I want to look into it a little bit more, but he wouldn't be. I always said they would lock him up if it was all true and they had. And so what are we going to do, man?
