We are top of the league! Welcome to Mike from the Gooners Pod and founder of Gooners vs Cancer
We are all riding an incredible high right now, being the top of the league and having a team that is looking just unbelievably connected and strong. And I wanted to start by saying or asking you rather, how are you feeling? We have been on a journey. Things have not been good over the last several years, times where we winning a game. Looked impossible, really. And here we are, top of the table
He's in his peak. Granted, he hasn't been playing a whole lot for Brighton right now. We know that he's a good player. He scores insane goals and has against the Big Six. And I think the biggest thing about it is the fee. It's nowhere near that hundred million that had been tossed around for our previous prospects wrecked he who Must Not Be Named as of now

And that has been the saving grace of being a gooner over the last, what? Twelve to 15 years, with the occasional opportunity to celebrate an FA Cup. I mean, it's been frustrating, but I've always said, you know, look, when times are tough on the pitch, we still have this incredible family that does incredible things. I've met some of the best friends in my life, people who have attended my kids bar mitzvahs, I've been to their weddings

Mike. I'm certainly glad we all have our arms still attached to our bodies, because how are we going to properly celebrate these winds that we keep getting without our limbs? I mean, man, you talk about this spirit in the fan base and honestly, man, you are just such an incredible ambassador of that spirit and of the football club, really

Yeah, man. I mean, Trosart, look, Taylor, he I'm going to predict and just keep in mind that we've just signed him. As I record this, it is definitely not two weeks later where we've seen him twice, but I'm just going to predict that he is going to make a big impact when he comes on against United. I think he's going to be incredible

Yeah, I'm happy to share my experiences and really what to me makes a trip over even better are the people. I mean, it sounds really jaded to say and it's really no longer the case, but it was a couple of years ago when the situation was a little more fraught with worry
He is an aggressive player and I like that from him and I think that that's going to bring some strong resolve to this midfield. It's a position that we needed to find some sort of coverage for. I think this is only a deal until 2024. To me, it seems like a pretty good idea. Paul Merson was was being interviewed this morning and he was saying he thinks it's a it's a brilliant signing. Only time will tell
And he was just so happy that I decided to support football and to support a team and to make the trip out, because that's what football is all about, right? It's about finding something that you love and then finding people to share that love with, right? And I think that what you experience is something that every Arsenal fan in the world should experience at some point
So, Mike, I want to shift gears and talk about something very near and dear to your heart, which is Gooners versus Cancer, the charity that you run. You've been raising money for leukemia, leukemia and lymphoma Society since 2017. And it's been amazing to watch how the charity has touched the lives of Gooners far and wide and how it's grown over these last several years. In 2021. For those of you listening, the Football Content Awards actually gave Mike the award
