The Coen brothers really outdid themselves with this movie. And actually, Javier Bardem ended up winning an Academy Award for his portrayal of the villain in this film. He is what we would call a complete and total psychopath. And beyond just being a psychopath, he is ridiculously smart, ridiculously calculated, and also very, very unpredictable

She was just brilliant in the movie. And her portrayal as the Wicked Witch of the west has stood the test of time. That is me answer to the greatest movie villain of all time
When he announces to kill himself rather than immediately pull him and get him help, he's given a second opportunity. Despite saying he would kill himself on air, he does it again in worse way. He starts to swear, he starts to have more of a breakdown, and it leads to him having a show. And they're talking about how their ratings have never been higher. They're tapping into markets that they didn't even think was possible

Now, rope was inspired by a real life murder case, Leopold and Loeb. I think I got the names right. And the movie also stars Jimmy Stewart. And in this film, two young men strangle and murder a friend of theirs and then proceed to hide his body in a trunk and then host a dinner party with serving food from that trunk. Movie was released in 1948
