So I learned that just to focus on her, that raising this little human was the most important job I could ever do on this planet. And, of course, if you're not a mom, you can help other people's children. You can teach them, you can visit them. You can let them play in your backyard. I've let a lot of kids play in my backyard
They don't want the responsibility, which I understand, but I also don't. I feel like being a father was one of the few things I've always known I wanted to do in my life grown up and just had my first child son who is two months old now, which is wild. And so I'm in that. I'm in the midst of the storm that you described and it's a beautiful storm full of lightning and rainbows at the same time

I know my life was enriched by being a mother and being a grandmother, and it continues on. Thank you for being a good dad. Thank you for that. It's a shame we live in a world where we do need to say thank you to fathers because so many mothers are doing it. But, yeah, a lot of men will check out and just not be there.
