Combating Loneliness

Not flowers, just plants. I'm sure there are online meetups and groups like that that you can join that might make it easier to do from your home. And if you are actually connecting with people that way, I'm all for it. I think our addiction to social media and social platforms are kind of dangerous at this point. If you are actually meeting and talking to people, that's different. Just putting that out there. I love getting feedback on this and love to continue this conversation

You. Hello. Happy Friday. I agree with you in many points, loneliness is an issue. It's really a big deal, especially nowadays with the social media where everyone is home using our phones and it's hard to connect, connect with the real people. And especially when you grow older you become more cautious perhaps based on the life experience, the things that you experience in your life, they make you more cautious now to connect people

And I see assisted living places around and they do function and have a purpose and do provide community, which is good. But making sure your loved ones are getting some sort of connection if daily would be great. But thank you so much. I'm going to check out your choir in Tacoma and yeah, is an important conversation to have. We all do get older and hopefully we can put things in place for ourselves and our neighbors and our loved ones to combat this loneliness. Take care

Hello. You are very welcome. And thank you too for your kind words. Something I also forgot to mention. Where I'm from, the elders, just like you said, we stay with them. In our culture, we don't have facilities where you put all the elders together and living under supervision of the health care. We don't have that. We don't have any. The elders, they stay with their family until the end of their time

And it was just awful of things that went on there. So I had to leave that eventually and they split anyhow. It's a terrible split. The things that happened, some assaults going on in there and just different things. I met some people that were nice, but overall I just realized more and more as much as it was good in the beginning, in the end it just wasn't serving me. So then I got into some sports leagues
