Slum Prophecy and the Hip Hop Revolution

article image placeholderUploaded by @StarvingPoet
Well, thankfully, the underground hasn't lost what hip hop is supposed to be about, and the group's on Prophecy, I think, should be the torch bearer for this revolution. Now, volume four, Whips and Chains, is our latest release, and I can't stop playing it like I want to play it as loud as I can, as much as I can, wherever I go. The lyrics are like a jackhammer to an earthworm

They told the story, they talked about where they came from, experiences they had gangstar, nas. Those guys had a really special touch. And I feel like a lot of the new artists, we missed that. Like you said, it's about the cars, it's about the money, it's about the guns, it's about the women. I think to some degree you can still talk about those things with some finesse, but I don't know that we really see that nowadays

So if you want to get the word out about slum prophecy, you can go into music, like search music, find people talking about music and invite them to your swell. Or jump on their swell and talk about it, too. I just wanted to give you a heads up. Welcome to Swelling
