Exploring the Art of Writing Thrillers with Siddhartha Thorat.
Siddhartha is a marketing professional turned author with several thrillers to his credit operation Fox Hunt, operation Hellfire and Operation Dragonfire. The latest in the list is the book operation Tiger Hunt, a gripping international spy thriller which is soon to be adapted to screen. He joins us today in this conversation as we talk about his books and his writing journey. Hi, Siddhartha. Welcome to Swell. Thank you so much for joining in
Also, it offers an adrenaline rush while you delve into complex characters and you have to think about everything requires meticulous planning. And at the end of the day, I believe that thrillers captivate readers and provide an irresistible canvas for creating unforgettable stories. So that is what actually attracted me to this. Jana

The protagonist in your latest novel is a raw agent who puts together a team of Indian special forces and a bunch of smugglers to rescue Indian spies on a high stake journey through the jungles of Sri Lanka. You know the very premises, you know, gripping, to say the least. But I'm curious, though. How do you go about researching the very intricate world of espionage and intelligence agencies for your novels to ensure the accuracy of technical details such as the surveillance techniques, encryption methods, et cetera?
I also like to visit real life settings as possible, to immerse myself in atmosphere and gather sensory details. Balancing research with imagination is key, allowing me to create a thrilling story grounded in realism. Because at the end end of the day, a thriller requires everything to be delved into in detail and the details have to be authentic. Otherwise it loses the attention of the reader
I structure my thrillers with the short sustainable chapters that end on cliffhangers, compelling reader to continue and quick dialogue exchanges. I employ sharp snappy dialogue to convey urgency and heighten the tension during action sequences. The idea is that nobody should get or the reader specifically should not get lost in the dialogues and the most important I think is unpredictable plot twists. So these incorporate unexpected twists and surprises to keep the readers on the toes and intensify their interests. So that is what I try and do
Thank you so much. Siddhartha, I think I will leave you with one final question. Are there any particular spy novels or authors that have had a significant influence on your own writing style or storytelling approach? So, yeah, that's my last question for you. Thank you so much for joining in. I'm going to be sharing the Amazon link to your book here for our listeners to check out. I do hope to have you back on Swell for more conversations around your books and writing
I have not been able to do the emotional turmoil too much because I believe that the genre and the target group, in terms of the readers I aim for, really will not like those drawn out emotional turmoils. But I do try and try and focus on the detailed of intricacies, of how the characters interact with the environment, with the systems and among themselves. These authors and their novels have provided me with insights and effective storytelling techniques, character developments and the art of suspense
