New Orleans drinking water is under threat and New York is under a flood watch.

article image placeholderNew Orleans faces drinking water crisis from shrinking Mississippi River
So New Orleans is under a drinking water alert. In some instances, you have to boil the water, but for the most part, people are being told not to drink the water because the Mississippi River is at a historically low level. So there's saltwater intrusion. This is bad on many levels because you don't realize how much water you drink and you need for consumption until you have to actually buy all of it

@souzanalavi New talking points

How many times were we giving out FEMA funds? FEMA's broke. I mean we are running to FEMA every single time and we have insurers pulling out of Florida because so many natural disasters happen in Florida. Well, that means the US is on the hook. Now, the US has always had a history of helping out brothers in need, helping out your neighbors when you need it. But we're kind of socializing emergency situation so maybe we attack it that way and say from a cost benefit

@Phil The Climate Emergency is here. #AskSwell

How many people die of cancer because of the tobacco industry? Not just cancer, cardiovascular disease. I mean, every disease you can imagine can be attributed to tobacco use, but they're making the profit, but they're not paying for the damage. So I think you're right. We need to talk about the numbers. If that's going to make a difference, I'm all for it
