Book Review: Normal People

article image placeholderUploaded by @sits_p
It is as much about the things said as about the things that are left unsaid. It's unnerving to read through how their relationship suffers due to lack of communication. The events in the book might appear repetitive, but it's refreshingly real. A welcome change from the boy meets girl and they leave happily ever after routine. The book also exploits real life issues like domestic abuse, depression and self doubt. I loved the book for not trying to be perfect. Normal People is perfect in its imperfections

The ending, of course, I don't know how the book exactly ends, but I'm guessing that it ends just the way the show ends. And not to give out any spoilers, but it just left me with a heavy heart. But somewhere it also made me happy. Just the fact that they found each other, found solace in each other, and how they helped each other get through the hurdles in life

And regarding how the book ended while I found it to be a natural conclusion to how Marie Anne and Connell's relationship progressed in the book, I'm sure it left many of the readers wanting better

Well, that does make me want to check it out myself. Check out the book myself. So you know what book fair is coming? Kolkata International Book Fair. So I will be visiting that with my friends. So I guess I will, you know, pick up normal people and give it a read. So thanks a lot for this suggestion
