SIGNALS FROM MARS | IRON MAIDEN DISCOGRAPHY DISCUSSION

article image placeholderUploaded by @signalsfrommars
It's a discussion amongst friends, and it's always interesting to see where different albums end up, how different periods are kind of lumped together, how one album may have an emotional connection with someone which doesn't resonate with somebody else. When we get into genre discussions, we have people that get upset with, oh, well, why did this album, why is this ranked so low? And a lot of times it just comes down to the magnitude of what's above it

And I think I salute you for being here to help further the reach and further the spread. I for sure wish that there were more people who were treating music mixing like you are. I feel like a lot more people would listen to good old fashioned live radio more if they did. Unfortunately. I feel like now it's just all ads everywhere, which is what it is, and that's okay

I do listen to the older stuff, but I don't know, I think maybe I listened to it too much when I was younger. And I guess when I found more modern metal, I kind of needed a little bit of a break. And I ended up getting lost there and never really returning back to my roots. I'll still throw them on from time to time, them Slayer bands like that

So getting that type of insight as to what made them special, what it was like there, and the opposite when there's a band that never became big in the UK, what it was like for him as a far, seeing certain bands rise to popularity and not have that same kind of push because they were US band or they were a German band or stuff like that, it's always really neat. It's fun to me. It's therapeutic

There was like a good two, three year stretch where I could not listen to them. And then I came back and for this specific episode, I purposely sat down and listened to everything. And man, from the self titled up to 7th Son of a 7th son, in my opinion, you can like them more or less, but they're timeless albums, all of them. Some are better, some are worse, but man, they just hit the spot. A lot of them
